Model Trucks

Whilst there are hundreds of model trucks available to buy 'off the shelf', the more interesting truck models are either produced in short runs as special editions or even one off bespoke model trucks. These tend to be used by businesses who commission the truck models for presentation or to give to customers.

Model Trucks : Steve Prince Transport

1:43 scale Iveco Stralis (4x2) and 3 axle, curtain trailer with side underrun bars, customised in Essex based operator Steve Prince Transport Ltd's livery. This is the first Iveco Stralis model released by Search Impex in a UK haulier's livery. As an owner / driver in 1993 and equipped with an Iveco Turbostar truck, Steve Prince began work hauling containers in and out of the ports of Felixstowe and Harwich. Asked to undertake more work than he could cope with alone, he was joined by a friend in 1995, and soon after that by his Father. For a while, they continued to specialise in container work but, in1997, the business made a move into general road haulage - and its first trailer was an old brewers dray! Having grown steadily year on year, the business has continued in general road haulage, mainly throughout the UK & Ireland , but also to Belgium , France and occasionally, Turkey . Incorporated in 2004, Essex based Steve PrinceTransport Ltd remains a family run business and today operates a fleet of 22 trucks comprising, almost exclusively, Iveco and Renault. Model Trucks : Red Funnel Distribution

1:43 scale model Volvo FH12 Globetrotter (6x2) with 3 axle, skirted, curtain trailer, customised in Red Funnel Distribution's livery. Red Funnel Distribution was originally a shipping company (Vectis Shipping Company Ltd) and was set up nearly 90 years ago. Its role was to handle Island supplies which were shipped over by barge from the mainland. The need to distribute the supplies led to the formation of Vectis Transport which, in 1948, developed into a general road haulage operation. Vectis Transport has been a part of the Red Funnel Group for over 30 years, but it was only in 1998 that they adopted the Group's corporate image and re-liveried as Red Funnel Distribution. Volvo FH12 Globetrotter (6x2) and 3 axle, refrigerated (Thermo King) trailer with pallet box, customised in Reid Transport's livery. This Volvo unit with fridge trailer follows on from the previous three different model releases in this well known Northern Ireland based operator's livery. The Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of the global SCA Group, has a fleet of around 150 trucks and 380 trailers and specialises in the transportation of paper, recoverable fibre, packaging solutions and hygiene products. Model Trucks: Bardon Tipper

The Bardon Tipper is a 1:43 scale Scania (8x4) tipper truck in Bardon Aggregates' livery. A small number of these models are available to collectors. The model has a removable "full over" easysheet (as pictured), or a fully rolled up version and is well detailed, complete with ladder and walkway and double hinged tailgate.
